2000 Meters

So this morning I got up early and headed up the mountain towards Batutumonga. I stopped at a few places along the way. The road got very bad in some parts and I was getting jolted all around the bike. I eventually made it up to the top of the hill where I had my morning coffee and Indo-mie.

Rufous-winged Buzzard

Rufous-winged Buzzard ( Butastur liventer)

I really have no idea about this bird. The eyes are bluish white, with yellow around the outside. He has russet outside tail feathers. Edit: It is a Rufous-winged Buzzard. Thanks to Khaleb Yordan for the ID help. 🙂

Chestnut Munia

Chestnut Munia (Lonchura atricapilla)

This one has got a heap of black on the belly. I could not work out what sub-species this might be. My internet is not great at the moment. Edit: I think it may be sub-species brunneiceps , but do not quote me on that. Information is a bit sketchy.
