Omeo to Eden
I came off the Great Alpine Road at Bruthen and joined the Princes Highway at Nowa Nowa. Up the road a bit I stopped at McKenzie River Rainforest Walk where I saw this fungi. It was so dark in the forest, plus it was a really overcast day so the light was atrocious.
There was a really nice camp at Genoa and near the bridge was a colony of Bell Miners.
Bell Miner (Manorina melanophrys)
The lores of the Bell Miner is olive to yellow with a golden yellow bill. The upper parts are olive-green, tail is brownish olive. There is a bare vermilion patch behind the eye in adults – immature have paler orange. You can see the lerps that they feed on. Thus causing die-back in the trees.
Eden for dinner time, then off to Pambula where I stopped at the Panboola wetlands. Not much there except a few Royal Spoonbill.
