Murray River Birding

From Nathalia, I had to go to Echuca for some administrative fuck-ups and so I went over the border to New South Wales and circled back to the Murray River. I camped on the side of the Murray overlooking Barham in Victoria.

Restless Flycatcher
Restless Flycatcher (Myiagra inquieta)

There were a heap of Restless Flycatchers on the side of the water, about five in all I think. This is an adult one.

This is a juvenile. You can tell by the scrap of colour on the chest.

Yellow Rosella
Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans flaveolus) “Yellow Rosella”

Sub-species flaveolus is generally found around the Riverina and Murry River.
