Chinamans Creek Dam

I left the Corella Dam and continued on to Cloncurry, in Western Queensland. I stayed at Wal’s Camp overnight and in the morning headed to the Chinaman’s Creek Dam, just out of town. I did see some Cloncurry Parrots early in the morning but the sun was not up yet, but later there were none around. doh! I did get some photos of them last time I was here. Luckily.

Pictorella Mannikin  - female

Pictorella Mannikin (Heteromunia pectoralis) – female

The female Pictorella Mannikin has pale flecked flanks and a black breast with fine white scalloping.

Pictorella Mannikin (Heteromunia pectoralis) – juvenile

The juvenile Pictorella Mannikin has dark ear covert much lighter than the adult.

This is a really bad shot. I thought it was a Crimson Finch so I did not go chase after it. doh!
