Kuala Terengganu Birding

Pulau Sekati

This morning I got up late – 8am, and went and had roti and sambal and Kopi-O. Grabbed a Grab to Sekati Island, just up the river from Kuala Terengganu. I wandered around for a few hours and did not see many birds.

Stripe-throated Bulbul
Stripe-throated Bulbul (Pycnonotus finlaysoni)

White-rumped Munia
White-rumped Munia (Lonchura striata)

Getting some straw for a nest.

Yellow-bellied Prinia
Yellow-bellied Prinia (Prinia flaviventris)

Not sure which one. At first I thought it was a tailorbird, but no rufous on the head. Then I thought of prinia and this is my latest guess – Yellow-bellied Prinia (Prinia flaviventris).

Pig-tailed Macaque
Pig-tailed Macaque (Macaca nemestrina)

This macaque had a rope around his neck and had been trained by the villager to go up the coconut tree and throw down the coconuts. His large incisors had been broken or taken out.

Oriental Garden lizard
Oriental Garden lizard (Calotes versicolor)

Doing the kata for kung fu lizard fighting style.
