Sungai Temonyong – Langkawi

This morning I went back to the Temonyong Creek. I was lucky to see a Laced Woodpecker and a Black-headed Bulbul.

Black-headed Bulbul (Brachypodius melanocephalos)

Mudskipper Battle 1
Mudskipper Battle

The mudskipper warns off the encroacher by raising the middle fin. If this does not work they will indulge in gaping to see who is boss.

Mudskipper Battle 2

Gaping mouths and raised dorsal fins are a sign of aggression.

Mudskipper Battle 3

It looks like they are sucking face rather than fighting.

Mudskipper Battle 4

Another one trying to get in on the act.
