Katherine Gorge

The first day in Katherine Gorge, also known as Nitmiluk National Park was a but quiet but the next morning it was a bit better along the river-front.

 Silver-crowned Friarbird

Silver-crowned Friarbird (Philemon argenticeps)

There was quite a variety of flycatchers but most of them I cannot properly identify.

Shining Flycatcher - male

Shining Flycatcher (Myiagra alecto)

I know this one, it is a male Shining Flycatcher. The female has a chocolate back.

Maybe a Leaden Flycatcher

Bar-shouldered Dove

Bar-shouldered Dove (Geopelia humeralis inexpecta)

I put up this close up shot to show the red bare skin around the eye is quite pronounced on this sub-species inexpecta.

black flying fox maybe
