Portland and Port Fairy

Point Danger Portland is the only Australasian Gannet colony on the mainland of Australia. The breeding season is from August to March.

The fledglings can then fly and migrate west and return in 3 or 4 years. Australasian Gannets feed on small sea-fish, diving into a school of fish one after the other like dive bombers.

Griffith Island, Port Fairy is a breeding place for Short-tailed Shearwaters. Unfortunately they had all left so I was too late. doh!
