Dali, Yunan Birding

It was still dark at seven in the morning in Dali. I got started late but there was not much around early on the road to Er-hai lake. As the sun came up, the birds got a bit more active and were most active from around nine in the morning.

Eurasian Hoopoe (Upupa epops)

These White Wagtails were frollicking around on the road and up in the wires. There were about half a dozen of them.

White Wagtail ( Motacilla alba)

I just managed to sneak a look at this Grey Wagtail before it took off into the bushes.

Gray Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea)

I got a shot of both male and female Daurian Redstart but the male photos came out all blurry. It was the camera’s fault of course.

Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach)

I have seen so many Red-vented Bulbuls all over Asia, so another one will not hurt.
